The 2025 AATCC Proficiency Testing Program is quickly approaching and one segment of the program is PTP4: Antibacterial Properties Program, which is an excellent opportunity for laboratories to showcase their proficiency in this critical testing segment. Designed to evaluate the antibacterial performance of textile materials using industry-standard methods, this program provides essential evaluation and validation for any lab conducting such testing.
Whether your lab specializes in antibacterial testing or a newer field, the PTP4 program offers a valuable pathway to validate, build credibility, and refine testing processes. With the registration deadline of March 15, 2025, now is the time to sign up and ensure your lab is part of this essential initiative.
The International Antimicrobial Council (IAC) is once again extending its expertise and resources to support AATCC and participating labs, making this an ideal opportunity to engage with industry-leading standards.
Key Details for PTP4 Participation
The Antibacterial Properties (PTP4) program will utilize two test methods for 2025:
- AATCC TM100
- AATCC TM147
Registration Deadline:
To participate, laboratories must register and complete payment by March 15, 2025, ahead of the April 2025 sample shipment.
IAC Involvement in AATCC PTP4
Similar to previous PTP iterations, the IAC will test and validate the testing fabrics that will be utilized by participating testing laboratories, thereby creating a standard for the test results. Once laboratory participants complete their testing, the IAC will review their testing data to validate their performance.
For 2025, IAC will also provide technical guidance to any participating lab, upon request, to help improve their testing and therefore improve the reliability and reproducibility of their test results.
PTP4 and IAC Lab Recertification
Participation in the AATCC PTP4 program not only demonstrates your lab’s capabilities but also offers IAC Laboratory members with a streamlined path to IAC certification. IAC Lab members that participate in the AATCC Proficiency Testing Program can utilize the test results from this program to fulfill their annual IAC Lab certification requirements for testing quadrants: Static Qualitative (AATCC TM147) and Static Quantitative (AATCC TM100).
