International Antimicrobial Council
Fund the science behind the standard.
The IAC is an independent nonprofit. Contributions pay for the testing, method development, and standards work that keep antimicrobial and odor control performance claims honest. Every gift is acknowledged by email with the documentation your accountant needs.
01
Support Donations
Unrestricted support. Goes where the council's work needs it most: laboratory capacity, regulatory guidance, and the education program.
02
Standards Development
The IAC performs extensive testing to determine what current test standards need to be modified to more accurately depict the real world performance of antimicrobial and non-biocides odor control products on both soft (such as textiles) and hard (such as ceramics) surfaces. The IAC modifies existing methods and develops new methods to better depict the performance of specific modes of action whose performance is not accurately depicted by existing test standards.
Your donation helps the IAC to pursue this work more broadly and supports the IAC obtaining adoption of the modified methods or new methods as standards within the major test standards organizations (AATCC, ASTM, etc). Your donation also allows you to provide input to the IAC regarding what test methods you feel are in need of modification and why. The IAC will provide semi annual updates on the development of these methods and their progress in becoming standards.

Payment is processed by Stripe. Card details never touch this website.
A receipt is emailed automatically the moment a gift clears, carrying the council's legal name, the amount, the date, and our EIN. Nothing to request, and nothing to chase down in January.
For Support and Standards Development donations the receipt states that no goods or services were provided in exchange, which is what the IRS requires to substantiate a charitable deduction. Help Drive the Bus is a membership: because it carries benefits, its receipt shows the fair market value of those benefits and notes that only the amount above that value is deductible.
